  • Does anyone doing Agile stories use a Custom Form on those tasks? I ask because it would be possible to put everything (the story, the acceptance criteria, notes, parking lot issues, etc.) in the Description field...but that could be A LOT of data. It would also overpower the story cards on the Kanb...

  • All, we ran into this as well and found that you can ONLY add resources to a project on the Staffing tab if they are in the Group that is set under Edit Project or the Project Details > Overview tab. The good news is you can change it to the correct Groups, add the resources, then switch to another ...

  • Two more to think about: -If you are listed as the Primary Support Contact with Workfront, be sure to have them update that to someone else. -If you have any APIs set up, be sure you didn't use your account to allow the API access. Jason Maust McGuireWoods LLP

  • David: I absolutely agree. Having the quality of a project plan be reliant on people remembering to click refresh after EVERYTHING they do is completely unrealistic. And Vic's concern regarding Resource Leveling could have a huge impact. My firm, and I imagine many others here, frequently over alloc...

  • VIc, we actually refer to them as Milestone tasks as well at my current firm. Our preference is to always summarize a group of tasks with Milestones (but, as you pointed out, not WF milestones) and not to use the Parent tasks. Jason Maust McGuireWoods LLP

  • I think Vic hit on all the high points but to share some complementary thoughts: As Project Managers, we like to try and deal in absolutes. And in some cases, predecessors are in fact absolutes and it is impossible to start Task B until Task A is 100% complete. However, I rarely find that is the cas...

  • We have an integration, though it is a fairly simple one. All we are doing is using the API to pull in a list of active projects from Workfront so that our Releases and Changes in ServiceNow can get tagged to projects. Jason Maust McGuireWoods LLP

  • Yes, I think we do something along the lines of Vic. Each group has their own BAU project where they are assigned year long tasks that add up to their BAU allocation. So, one task would have 25% of their year (let's say Server Reboots) and another 25% on another task (say Patching). Then, when doing...

  • Jill, while I agree with everything Vic said, to be honest with you I think it is much more practical to just manually adjust the 3 dates as Must Finish On dates. Don't get me wrong, it is absolutely not the "ideal" or "perfect world" scenario, but it's three dates. If putting a process in place tha...
