Re: New Feature: Separate Label and Name for custom fields - Workfront 08-07-2020
Hi Doug, That's a great question! Thanks for asking! When we started this initiative among our top priorities were to make sure this improvement does not require any immediate changes or updates to be made by the customers. We realize that it may take some time until the custom field names are effectively utilized, so we don't want to force anyone. As for the best practices, I think the simple rules that apply to everybody and are commonly used across the industry are: Keeping those field names a...

Re: Rich text features to some of the WF native fields, specifically Issue Descriptions? Switch current custom text fields to rich text? - Workfront 07-07-2020
Hi Narayan, Thanks much for the feedback! May I ask if you've performed the tests in the New Workfront Experience? As that is where those capabilities are supported. If you're seeing "Sample Formatted Text" and could not inline edit in NWE, please raise a bug to our support team, so that we can investigate that behaviour. Thanks,Gevorg

Re: New Feature: Separate Label and Name for custom fields - Workfront 06-07-2020
Hi Kevin, Thank you for the feedback! We do require field names to be unique, as those serve as differentiators, however, the new field labels don't have to be unique and you are free to reuse labels. I hope this helps. Thanks,Gevorg

Re: Rich text features to some of the WF native fields, specifically Issue Descriptions? Switch current custom text fields to rich text? - Workfront 03-07-2020
Hi Narayan, Thank you for the feedback! I'm sorry to hear that you don't find rich text formatting useful, though I just want to bring to your attention that the lists support has been added and now available on your Preview instance for New Workfront Experience. More details are available here. I hope this helps. Thanks,Gevorg

New Feature: Separate Label and Name for custom fields - Workfront 02-07-2020
Hey folks, I’m excited to announce a new feature that is now available in your Preview environment! The separation of name and label for custom fields is there! From now on, you can freely change the custom field labels without any impact on the API usage of the field. You can find more information here: New for administrators: Create both an internal name and a user-facing label for a Custom Form field. Thanks! Gevorg KazaryanProduct Manager

Re: Anyone know why the default landing page isn't updating with users in the new experience? - Workfront 14-05-2020
Hey Nathan and Amy, I'm sorry to hear that you're having troubles with the landing page in NWE. My recommendation would be to at first check the Layout Templates assignments priority, as the Layout Templates assigned to users have the following applying priority: Individual userPrimary job roleHome teamHome group You can find a more detailed overview in this article. If that doesn't help, please feel free to submit a support ticket, so that a product team can solve the problem. I hope that helps...

Re: Change to Layout Template reports - Workfront 10-04-2020
Hi Skye, You're exactly right, the expected result is as you described: If you create a layout template report in the NWE, it will come in under report type UITMPL and will report only NWE layout templates. If you create a layout template report in Classic, it will come in under report type LYTMP, and will report only Classic layout templates. I'm sorry to hear that there was a miscommunication on this and happy to answer any further questions. Thanks,

Re: Change to Layout Template reports - Workfront 09-04-2020
Hi @Skye Hansen‚ , Thanks much for sharing this! We will investigate this further, as no changes were intended to happen to reports and so far I couldn't reproduce this behavior on my environments. The only thing that we recently did is addressed the ticket you've submitted on displaying proper data depending on the environments and right now you can see the NWE Layout Templates data in NWE and Classic Layout Templates data in Classic. I hope that makes sense. Thanks again for calling this out!

Re: Communicating Updates for NWE - Workfront Archived Groups 09-04-2020
Hi @Anthony Imgrund‚ , I'm sorry to hear that you had troubles with the recent Layout Templates migration and I apologize for any lack of communication on that matter. It looks like in your scenario you had to do some manual work to bring the things to the state you've had and I'm sorry to hear that. The purpose of that remigration was to make sure our customers have the latest data before GA and don't have to do the manual work to redo the content, since the last migration has happened around 6...

Re: Layout Template Access - Workfront Archived Groups 21-02-2020
Hey everyone, I just wanted to share that we were having a similar discussion in the other community thread and it might worth checking that discussion as well. In the nutshell, I'd recommend creating a custom view on users page list, which will show the actual Layout Templates assignments in Classic and NWE. That'll significantly reduce the need to switch back & forth between 2 experiences. Feel free to use the following text mode for that: Classic Layout Templates displayname=Actual Classic La...
