Solved the problem. There were a number of other entries under the Oak Default Sync Handler and the Oak External Login module for Communities. I deleted all of these entries and then the login to our LDAP worked fine. I am assuming those other entries were part of the demo stuff that comes with the usual install.

No, nothing relating to problems with the user or the group. Below is an image of the logged error - which is also what I see on the screen.

No Start page after LDAP login
Avatar

We just built our first AEM 6.4 server and have configured the LDAP authentication. When logging in with an LDAP user (not a locally created user) we get an Error 500 page and the /aem/start.html page doesn't load. Even if you manually enter the URL, it doesn't load, just gives the Error 500. However, if we login with an internally created test user, we go right to the /aem/start.html page. The LDAP configuration appears to be correct because the user can log in - I have tested using the wrong pa...

Change default permission inheritance?

Is it possible to change the default inheritance for websites and their subsections? This is the situation I have:Existing:Site1/Department1Site1/Department2Adding:Site1/Department3NewSiteIn the case of Site1, both Department1 and Department2 have Read permission to Site1 and then Full permissions to their particular Department but they can't see the other Department. When I add the new Department3 to Site1, the other 2 Departments automatically see Department3 until I go in and "fix" their perm...

Upgrade to 6.1 on Publish Server deleted content

I performed an in-place test upgrade of my 6.0 Author and Publish servers (two separate servers with the standard ports of 4502 and 4503 respectively) to 6.1. We were already on the new crx3 instead of crx2 since the 6.0 servers were brand new. The Author server did just fine, all my content is there. However, my Publish server seems to have wiped out all the content, dam, and apps - it did leave the custom map.publish script in place as well as custom packages, so it didn't appear to completely...

CQ5 Authentication based on LDAP Group Membership
Avatar

I am in the process of setting up authentication via Active Directory LDAP. I have it working just fine for everyone in my AD to log in to CQ5, but I actually have about 1000 AD users and only 10 will be using CQ, at least in our test phase. I would like the LDAP authentication process to only create new user accounts in CQ based on membership in an AD group. (Example: TestUser1 belongs to group AEM_USERS so their account is created when they log into AEM for the first time, but TestUser2 is not...

I am attempting to populate user fields in AEM 6.0 rom my LDAP. I have successfully configured my LDAP to allow users to log in and am transferring first name and email, but I can't get other fields like Last Name and Job Title to populate. Here are the User Property Mappings that I have under Sync Handler:profile/sn=familyNameprofile/givenName=givennameprofile/email=mailprofile/description=jobTitleI have verified that the fields names I'm using from my LDAP are correct, and I have looked at AEM...

Combing through the logs, I think that this is the problem. My log says:checking []compared to another person's log - checking [/content/public/individuals-families/financial-life/planning-strateg ies.html]So it appears that the problem is that no page is being checked - why would this be happening? ANd yes, the Flush agent is configured and working fine - the log shows success. Not that there is anything to flush, as no content is being cached on the wwwroot page.... Diana

I am using the standard ports on this box - I literally built it step by step with the training manual. Author is on port 4502, Publisher1 is on 4503, Publisher2 is on 4505, web is on 80. I am just using one Publish instance (#2 at 4505) to simplify things. However I will look at that document. Diana

But it has an extension - the url is: http://(ip address)/content/geometrixx/en.html - wouldn't that be an .html file? I am just trying to open the basic out-of-the-box demo page, nothing fancy.

I have now gone back to the very beginning, a fresh install of Dispatcher with the generic Dispatcher.any file - the only thing I changed was the Render's IP address. Same 404 error page as before, and this is the log: [Tue Feb 25 10:45:31 2014] [D] [5492(3928)] Dispatcher initializing (build 4.1.4)[Tue Feb 25 10:45:31 2014] [D] [5492(3928)] farms[website].cache.docroot = C:\inetpub\wwwroot[Tue Feb 25 10:45:31 2014] [I] [5492(3928)] Dispatcher initialized (build 4.1.4)[Tue Feb 25 10:45:31 2014] ...

The reference in the log to /geometrixx/en.html is the /homepage variable, not the page I am requesting. (I have tried configuring with and without the homepage option and the result is the same). So no, that isn't a typo.I am not sure what you mean by looking up the request made to the publisher - the page shows up just fine at the publish URL at http://localhost:4505/content/geometrixx/en.html as I said above. I see this page when I am on the file server or when I am on my local browser (excep...

I have just finished configuring Dispatcher and have apparently made a configuration error that I can't see m to fin. I have a server with Author, Publisher, and IIS installed on it, and I have configured Dispatcher to work with IIS (AEM 5.6.1, Dispatcher-iis-windows-x64-4.1.4). I have activated teh Publish agent from my Author instance and that is working fine, I see page changes when made. When I go to the Publisher URL (http://localhost:4505/content/geometrixx/en.html) I get the correct page ...

Thanks - that got rid of the error message. (Now I am getting a webpage cannot be found, but that is probably a configuration error somewhere.) Diana

The version is dispatcher-iis-windows-x64-4.1.4.zip. It contained 5 files: author-dispatcher.any (which we are not using), disp_iis.dll, disp_iis.ini, dispatcher.any, and release-notes.txt. I have them all in the Scripts folder under inetpub, and I have created a Virtual directory link under my website to the Scripts folder.I have done the Handler Mappings, both with the instructions on the Configuring Dispatcher webpage and the Release-notes.txt file in the download - as a mapped and as a wildc...

I have spent the past week trying to sort out a problem with a new configuration of a Dispatcher installation. It is running on IIS 7.0, on a stand-alone server in our Development tier, so it has full access to our single Author and Publisher servers. I have gone through the Configuration page (http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/deploying/dispatcher/disp_config.html) and the Troubleshooting page (http://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/using/dispatcher-faq.html) several times. I have verifi...
