Of course I have challenged our marketers, business etc. about whether they really need to track close to all (not all, but still a lot) elements that a user can interact with, or if we could just make a heatmap and a nice little Business Requirements Document with the most important high level things to track. As a developer I'd prefer that as well, but apparently this extensive insights is unfortunately needed as they want to use analytics as the tool for the UX team to learn and understand how...

HiLast month I posted this question: https://experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com/t5/adobe-analytics-questions/acdl-and-the-quot-component-quot-property-with-fewer-evars-props/qaq-p/396342 which unfortunately did not receive any answers yet.To try and answer this myself I started doing some research about the limitations at first.https://helpx.adobe.com/legal/product-descriptions/adobe-analytics.htmlhttps://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/analytics/technotes/low-traffic.html?lang=en#how-low-tra...

Hopefully this is coming soon. We also have a need for it, in our case we'd love the be able to match the ends with "button\:(.+)$" but unfortunately the current filter options does not allow that.

Sorry to hear you don't consider it to be feasible in standard analytics. Curious to know why, since people seem to have a need for it - is it some technical limitation that makes it too difficult for you to support this feature?Generally we're using a dimension, Button Id paired with Button Label and other dimensions for different types of components we need to track. The Button Id dimension is a unique id which is based on exactly where in the UI that component is located whereas Button Label m...

I'm in the process of implementing a datalayer similar to what AEM components (but without using AEM) are using, but the component property. After reading the documentation I got a little confused why in this tutorial https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-manager-learn/sites/integrations/analytics/create-analytics-workspace.html#integrations they're using "Button Id" instead of just sending "Component Id" to evar 8 without the condition where they filter out on "Component Type" butt...

I really hope this will be supported soon. For example in the "Set Variables" Action, it is very error prone having your evar, props and events mapping done in the UI, and then below inside the custom code, where you set the list variable, you have to know / remember to maintain the linkTrackVars and linkTrackEvents or they will not be included in the reporting. It should be a fairly simple task to support list variables from the ui since the implementation could just be the same as for evars.

Thanks, at least this is the best workaround I've seen suggested. I guess I'll have to see if I can get a list variable free'd up, so maybe we can use this trick. A little surprising however that you'd have to go this creative to make it work 😄

Unfortunately we need a lot more than the 100 bytes that is supported in total for list properties

I work at a big company where the marketing department wants to track all projects within the same report suite. We need a list variable in our project, but since there's the limitation of only 3 list variables per report suite, and they're already used by other projects, what are our options besides hacking a work-around and using the product variable? (list props won't work either due to the 100 char limitation). Can we pay to buy more list variables or why is this not possible?"An organization...
