I keep getting the following error message when I set the date range to a year(actually 10 months). "One of the segments or the search in this visualization contains a text search that returned too many results. Please narrow the text search criteria and try again." As I understand, this means that the text search criteria in the segments are too broad and therefore, there are too much data that Adobe Analytics has to handle. I've optimized the conditions set in each segment and tried to use "st...

Would "First Touch Channel" work? For some reason(and I don't have the right to check or modify admin setting), I don't see "Marketing Channel" in the dimension list.

Hello, thanks for the reply but what I was asking was, how I can find out by whom the event happened. So for example, "30% of the event clicks happened by organic search visits" something like this.

What is the difference between using and not using a container? Please refer to the example below: 1) When using a container:(Including Visits that include Hits) 2) When NOT using a container:(Including Hits only) I've blocked out the data for security issues, however all the conditions are pretty much the same except the usage of a container. As the results show, TSpV differs a little bit but the rest are the same. Why does using a container makes difference in TSpV but not the others? Thanks in ...

As you can see, TSpV shown by its metric is 124(123.53257388839309 in specific). However, if you calculate TSpV:2,353,172 / (36,066 - 14,438) = 109it shows a certain amount of difference than shown by the metric TSpV(seconds). Why is this happening?

Are segment definitions case sensitive? For instance if I were to add a "Tracking Code starts with..." definition, would I need to put in 'abcd' and 'ABCD' and all the other possible outcomes?Same question goes for when filtering the breakdowned results. Also if so or if not so, could you please explain the logic behind it? Thanks in advance!

I've added a final image to the question, please refer to the last one. So, let's say that a visit was made through "Page A" (which didn't have a sub section(eVar4) value), and then went to "Page B" (that had a sub section(eVar4) value "abc"). Then in this case, if I put Sub Section(eVar4) dimension against Entries metric, would I see Page A, if I brokedown the Sub Section(eVar4) dimension?

Thank you for the reply! Could you check if I understood it right? I've added a new image in the article(add3 image). So if a visit as shown in blue boxes were made, I would get the result like the below, am I right?

I've added another one, using [Page] dimension to break it down, but the same problem exists.

First of all, thank you for the reply. I've read both of your blog articles and the explanation, but still confused. If I put [Sub Section(eVar4) = "blah blah"] as dimension, and [Entries] as metric, shouldn't it only count Entries that were made through pages that have [Subsection(eVar4) = "blah blah"] set?

When I breakdown the "Sub Section(eVar4)" into "Pages", I see many pages that don't have Sub Section(eVar4) set. I was wondering why this is happening.

Thanks for the reply. I have a following question. As you've said, as I brokedown Sub Section XXX into pages, I've found that many of them didn't have eVar4 nor prop4 correctly set. This being the case, why are they even included in the data table?

Why do I see a difference in Entries metric, when using Sub Section(eVar4 or sProp4) dimension and Entry Page as the dimension? I've specifically put all the Entry pages that have the exact same Sub Section value. And there are no other pages that have the same Sub Section value other than that I've put in the dimension column. Thanks in advance! --additional image for follow up questions. add_2: add 3: final addition:

Thanks! Changing the segment condition worked. But I'd still like to understand the logic behind it. Give me a notice when you finish posting on your blog. Thanks again!

Hi, I've read several posts with the same problem as I had, but still quite don't understand.I wanted to know how many entries were made that did not have tracking codes(and consider them as organic entries). So I set the segment as below, to filter out entries that don't have tracking codes. And then set Entries and Visits as metric values. You can see that with "Visits" metric, the segment works fine. But with "Entries" metric, Tracking Codes that don't fit the condition are also shown. I'm curio...
