The screens player will not work with self-signed certificates in production. This is a security limitation imposed by the browsing engine rather than AEM Screens itself. These are the comments from adobe support team, so i think we will not have an answer for this question

It all depends on the order of the ACLs in aem, go to crx de and check the access control in the right side panel. Try rearranging the order of the rules, you can drag the ACLs in the list, the last rule will take precedence.
