Re: A/B Test Excludes Most Visitors LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
Are you using at.js or mbox.js for your implementation? A4T only works with at.js 0.9.6 or later, not with mbox.js. Also, have you looked in Target to see what numbers it is reporting? I would check Target to see what it is reporting and see if its more accurate than A4T.If Target is correct, then most likely this is only a reporting issue, not an issue splitting traffic. In other words, its quite possible that your test is running correctly and splitting traffic correctly, but its just reportin...

Re: Traffic a A/B split test not splitting as set LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
We probably should have started with reporting. Where are you looking at reporting? In A4T(Analytics) or in Target? The error you are getting is telling you that its a reporting error and not a splitting traffic error. So people can still get into the experience, but it will report wrong in A4T if you are on an older version of at.js. Do you know what version you are on? And have you checked to see what Target is reporting?

Re: Traffic a A/B split test not splitting as set LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
A couple of thoughts. How much traffic are you talking about here? Can you give us some actual numbers? Sometimes with small volumes of traffic the split takes a bit of time to even out, even though it shouldn't.Do you have any other audience segments set up? Sometimes audience segments can cause strange splits.

Re: Activity QA link not showing test changes LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
I've noticed that sometimes I get stuck in other previews that I was working on causing the current preview not to render correctly. So I usually clear the preview and it often clears things up. Then go back to the current preview. To clear it you just need the blank url parameter ?at_preview_token= with nothing after the equals sign. I also wrote some javascript that you can bookmark in your browser that will clear if for you. Here's a link to the code for the bookmark. How to Clear Adobe Targe...

All of the implementations that I have seen through Angular have always been very difficult and we have struggled to get them to work right. It usually takes a more custom integration because of the way Angular loads.

Re: Adobe Target - 50/50 traffic split - test two experience vs their own controls LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
Yes, you are correct. Exp B will basically have two experiences in it. One for each audience. Within visual experience composer, you can select the audience and then create an experience specifically for them. Go into Audiences first and set up your two audiences based on GEO. Then add those to the test.I don't think I would use auto-allocate. That just starts to show the new visitors the better performing exp. I would just leave it at manual 50/50. What that will do is make it so that 50% of yo...

Re: Adobe Target - 50/50 traffic split - test two experience vs their own controls LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
On the first scenario, you are correct. This is probably your best option. For the second, it gets a little complicated. You could run multiple tests on the same page but to different audiences. The audience keeps them from being in both tests. So you would have to take care to make sure that your audiences don't overlap. It can get a little messy if you're not careful. But it can also be effective for certain situations.

Re: Adobe Target - 50/50 traffic split - test two experience vs their own controls LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
You basically have two options to set this up.1. You can set this up using the visual experience composer. It will be structured a little different than what you are describing. Basically you will have two experiences with two audiences. Since its a test, Target wants to test each experience against the same audience. So its not possible to set it up as an experience with an audience vs a different experience with a different audience. It wouldn't be a fair apples to apples comparison. It would ...

Can you give a little more info? What do you mean, "they are stuck on this being an A/B"? What is the push back you are getting? What are their concerns? Is there an internal debate on the validity of personalization?A couple thoughts here.Define your goal. It doesn't sound like everyone is on the same page as far as what they goal for this test is. Its key to get everyone on the same page with the same goal before testing. The goal should define the test.Personalization can be tricky. It may be...

Re: A/B Test with redirect: Control version counted multiple times LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
When comparing two different reports, its important to make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. In other words, for the two reports that you are looking at, make sure that you are looking at the same segments, audience and that its a true comparison. You said Page Reports. Are you just looking at the page report? Meaning, are you looking at all traffic to those pages? Or are you looking at a Target Activities report that would show the visitors in the test. My point is that if you are ...

How in Analytics are you reporting the test? Are you using A4T? If you are using A4T, then you have to be using the at.js implementation of Target. Otherwise you may have problems reporting in Analytics. Have a look at the link below.https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/target/a4t/c_a4t-faq-redirect-offers.html

Re: Setting up Reporting in Adobe Target LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
Are you running this as an A/B test? Or are you just looking for Tracking? Also, do you have Adobe Analytics? If you do, Analytics is the way to go, for both testing reporting and for tracking events like this. If you have Analytics, I would look in to A4T (Analytics for Target). If not, then let me know and I will offer some other suggestions.

Re: Activities using the Analytics audience do not get triggered LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
I typically don't use Adobe Analytics segments for audience targeting in Target because, as noted above, there is a latency. Analytics segments are better for reporting and for looking at was has happened. You are better off building audience segments in Target for your testing as they are more real time and better for targeting incoming traffic.

Re: Revised DTM rule not showing in Target as a location for form based test LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
I don't think it updates straight away to Target when you update a rule. It seems like DTM has to have actual users firing the rule and reporting back to Target. Once the rule is sending data, then Target recognizes this new data and makes it visible as an option. So you may just have to wait an hour or two for it to start reporting data. Then you should see it.

Re: A/B redirect with query string LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
To clarify, there is a difference between path and URL. URL is the full URL including the domain. So in this case the URL is https://site.com/a. The path however, does not include the domain. So the path here is just /a. So it would be incorrect to use path equals http://site.com/a.I prefer to use URL because we run Target on more than one domain and I need to specify which domain the test is running on. Also, I don't find the "equals" evaluator to behave exactly as I would expect it would. It i...

Re: Target/Personalize user to prompt message before browser close LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
I use a lot of jquery in my tests. In fact, most of my tests require jquery in order to test out the things I want to do. I find it hard to tests things that will cause a significant lift if I am just changing simple things through images or html.I am not sure what you mean by a targeted page and a regular page. Could you explain more?

Re: Target/Personalize user to prompt message before browser close LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
One correction I wanted to add to my code. You don't want the exit pop to pop up over and over again. So I added a variable so that it only pops once.Here is the updated code.var mouseOut = 0;$(document).mouseleave(function () { if(mouseOut==0){ //your action code goes here $( "#exitPop" ).show(); $( "#exitPopBackground" ).show(); mouseOut = 1; }});

Re: Target/Personalize user to prompt message before browser close LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
There isn't a built in way in Target to do this, but you can do it through jquery. I prefer a method that doesn't block the user from closing the browser window. While you could try and tie the popup directly to the click to close the window, this is spammy and not a good practice. What I recommend is using the jquery mouseleave function. What this function does is detect when the user's mouse has left the browser window. We are making the assumption that they have left the window because they ar...

Re: at.js object LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
Have you looked into Analytics for Target also called A4T? This allows reporting of mbox and Target activity in Adobe Analytics. It is my preferred method for reporting all Target data.Adobe Analytics as the Reporting Source for Adobe Target (A4T) As far as the session goes, I am not sure that you will be able to fire an event based on session timeouts. Analytics sessions time out when a user has been inactive for 30 minutes, usually because their browser has been closed. Since the browser is cl...

Yes, they can easily be used as entry criteria. You just set it up in your Audience Refinements. Go to Audience -> Visitor Profile -> New Visitor.

Re: AB Test applicable on full website LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
Yes, it is very possible. In fact it is highly likely because Target will display the Test anywhere that matches your Audience refinement and filtering.Did you use the Visual experience composer? Or Form based? If you used the visual composer, then you had to put in a URL and Target should only display the test on that URL.If you used form, then you will need to make sure to add Audience refinements. Its right below where you select the mbox targeting.I would recommend downloading and installing...

Re: Datalayer value as adobe target audience condition LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
Personally, I don't' think that I would send something as specific as an account number to target. The reason being, you might have millions of users and account numbers and this could be very cumbersome to manage. And Target won't be good at managing something so specific. You could create an audience and within the audience list each account number. Each line/return is considered an or statement, but again this isn't a good practice and is difficult to manage with something that could have lot...

Re: Datalayer value as adobe target audience condition LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
Possible problem you may have with DTM.You can set it up in the DTM interface so that it passes parameters from the datalayer through DTM to the mbox. However, there can be a problem that causes the mbox parameter to be empty. The problem with most implementations, is that Target loads at the top of the page before the datalayer loads. Which means that when Target loads, the datalayer isn't yet available. So even though you did it correctly in DTM, you will get an empty value. I have written mor...

Re: How can I monitor page views for Target billing purposes? LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
I believe it counts any pageview anywhere an mbox fires, regardless if there is an activity running or not. For the 3rd party pixel, I would check with your account rep and have them monitor the pageviews and see if an additional mbox call will count against you.

Re: How can I monitor page views for Target billing purposes? LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
I have never seen any reporting on how many page views an account has used in a given time period directly in Target. They only way I have seen a report like this was by contacting my account rep. Somehow they can look it up. And really, the only time the number of page views we had used was ever really brought up was when we went to renew our contract. They used the previous years page views to outline the cost for the renewal.

Re: A/B/C QA Process LJ_Jones - Adobe Target
Have you used the Preview Experience links before? From the main list of activities, click on your activity. On the overview tab, a little down the page on the left side will be a blue link that says "Preview Experiences". Click on this and it will open a popup. From the popup, add a url to the page that you want to QA. It will then generate a link for each experience. You will then be able to click a preview link and do your QA. Please note that these are temporary links. If you make changes to...
