For all those who have migrated over to SiteCatalyst 15, this message
might be useful at first. I design dashboards for a dozens of
stakeholders who have no access to Omniture and won't understand this
warning: "Data for this report suite is processed by a previous data
platform that may not support certain". It matters to me and I know that
in this particular instance this is not an issue, I wish I could remove
it from Omniture as opposed to having to fiddle with it on Acrobat Pro.
Please make ...
When you email a report in PDF for example, it comes as an attachment,
if this is for you, fine. In my case though, I end up forwarding to
colleagues more often than not actually. Some of these colleagues do not
see the attachment and try to access the link in the message which is an
option but not the quickest one. Here is an example of message below for
those who have not tried. Should not we add, something a bit clearer
such as: Please find attached the report you have requested? Simple, yet
Right now it is limited to 100 characters and we have many instances of
custom traffic reports with more than that - then of course the strings
get truncated and the report loses interest. Example available at
Not sure if the plugin version of Acrobat reflects in any way the
version on the desktop but any additional details regarding this plugin
would be useful. Right now, we only see whether it is installed on the
browser or not. I guess that should be straight forward to implement now
that Adobe owns SiteCatalyst, if technically feasible of course.
For those of us who can identify unique visitors, it would be nice to be
able to track key visitors with their UserID e.g. jsmith99 where UserID
is a custom traffic variable. Same would apply to an evar. As a result,
you will need to expand the limit which is 5 currently. If you can do
the same for Virtual Focus Group on Discover then you have a session
tracking tool there too.
At times I produce dashboards across several report suites and when
doing so, I want to compare the same reports - often custom traffic
reports or custom reports. The problem I have is that color attribution
for graphs seem random and often they don't match. It complicates
matters so I am hoping this can be implemented at some point.
I regularly build custom reports for internal customers and when doing
so, I try to give meaningful names so that they can benefit a wider
audience. The problem is that custom report names are omitted when
exporting and "Correlation report" is confusing for a lot of folks who
never use SiteCatalyst but who rely on its output reports heavily.
Please make this possible.
My colleagues often need to run quarterly reports for the current
quarter and the previous one. You can pick the exact dates and then such
dates can be retained below the preset options but they still would like
to see these two options available. Would be for SiteCatalyst, Data
warehouse and Discover.
As you know already probably, you can pull user generated content in the
latest Dashboard version of SiteCatalyst. All you need to do is to enter
a url for an external image and...voilà! Our company use Discover as
well as SiteCatalyst and we often need to aggregate manually from OSC
and OD, that implies on a separate document. If Discover could deliver
schedule reports by ftp in HTML, then the dynamically created graph
could be uploaded by ftp from Discover and uploaded dynamically again on
If a scheduled dashboard goes out with missing sections then it is
automatically resent - I have a lot of scheduled reports going out to a
wide list of colleagues. This is confusing to all us. Could you check
the report before it is sent out?
The new dashboard is great in the sense that you can add external
pictures, text as well as notes. I think SiteCatalyst looks like a clear
contender in the race to a single reporting tool. I think that to make
that happen though, Omniture will have to add some external reportlet
generators like http://code.google.com/apis/charttools/ for example. Not
all the data is available on SiteCatalyst so that would be nice to add
as long as it is dynamic of course.
Not sure if this is being used at all and therefore if its on the
roadmap for any improvement but whilst testing it I thought it was a
shame that it cannot be customized or personalized in any way. Lets be
frank, it does not bring much & I would rather access the data in full
on SC not through such a small window but this is because I have access
to SC. On the other hands, I have colleagues who use iGoogle at work and
rather heavily, but then they don't have access to SC. It would be much
Very often I change my dashboards date and download them, the only
problem is that just nearly as often the download is slow so it reverts
back to emailing the report. When doing so, the period of time that gets
picked is the one which was preset on the dashboard though. So the whole
exercice becomes pointless. There should be an option to force the
current timeline when emailing a dashboard.
This is not a must have but it would be a nice to have. Power users tend
to set dashboards for the regular users then the latter come back to the
former for help or review. Each time, we need to share and copy
dashboard. It is possible to share a common login for this purpose of
course but it is adding extra complexity for the users. Could it be
possible to have collaborative dashboards eg "team dashboards" where a
group of dedicated users could all access and edit directly?
I usually run the analysis on Discover and depending on the outcomes,
export to Excel. I think that most of the time I would want the full
breakdown on the current list of rows on display. But Phillipuk did show
me a trick so that does not need implemented really.
I personally don't see much difference between scatter and bubble
charts, I actually never use any of these either. On the other hand, I
think a treemap would be much more useful, here is an
example:http://www.co2scorecard.org/countrydata/treemaps Could we add
this format as an option (additional or replacement of scatter or
That was my comment too during the beta testing, those dashboards have
been optimized for print and we run everything electronically. The
layout looks much better but PDF and HTML are closed formats, at least
Word and Excel should be retained from the legacy dashboards.
I have a lot of legacy dashboards with custom traffic report with
correlations and filters. When adding a custom reportlet it is not
possible to apply the correlation, can it be enabled please? Especially
for: Metric Gauge, Report Suite Summary, Usage Summary
We have a lot of reports like everybody else and a lot of rows in those
reports, if we want to correlate all of these rows at once the only
option we have is:- apply 5 * 5- apply the rest manually This is
painfull, can you add a breakdown option to the full report?
This is probably the main outstanding issue in our company. Account
managers need to filter custom traffic reports across their accounts and
in order to do this, we need to apply a correlation on each reportlets
of a dashboard - there can be as many as 10. It would save us a lot of
time if trending could be applied at the dashboard level.
Very often when I send an export of a custom report where I applied
filtering, colleagues come back to me and say that the sum of all rows
don't add up the total. That is because the total page views does not
refresh after a filter on a custom traffic report. It would be great if
this functionnality could be added.
Not strictly speaking a product enhancement rather a business process
but this is affecting my experience with Omniture. I often get emails
from ClientCare stating that I have not got back to them and that the
issue is going to be closed in a couple of days. But there is no detail
about the issue, it would save me a lot of time if the problem was
listed there too.
