Hi Jörg, the above solution holds good if there is a dispatcher infront of the author instance, also the admin will lose the access to crx if he moves out of the network for some reason (if the admin is on a travel for eg.), is it a good practice to consider IPs in this scenario?Whats the alternative if there is no dispatcher in front of the author instance?

Ah ok, you are using type="date" (the first property of your datepicker) this is what i meant.I see your problem, you are using just type=date but by default this is storing in date-time format and thats why the dialog is not able to display the value.2 Solutions-1. Hi Himanshu,Could you explain a little more about the requirement which requires author to place a code(), because this doesn't look like a good practice? If the content has to be beautified or modified for some reasons, it can always be done in the component's script (sightly or JSP).
