  • It's a privacy issue. It's unlikely that Adobe would allow Acrobat/Reader to sniff out information about the user without his or her knowledge, including his or her username.

  • If all else fails, back up the file and try this. On the XML Source tab in Designer, search on <traversal> and delete all such nodes. This should reset all tabbing order to the default, which is top-left to bottom-right. Now try setting the tabbing order the way you want from scratch.

  • That code will work for a text field, but not a numeric field. For a text field, the rawValue is a JavaScript String object, which has a length property. That is unless the field is empty, in which case it contains null, which you should test for in your code. A numeric field returns an integer or a...

  • In the display pattern, put the % in single quotations. So, ZZ9.99'%'Another option, in case you hadn't considered it, is to put a static text object to the right of your right-justified numeric field and put a % there. This simple approach makes it clear to the user what you're expecting. I like to...

  • In case you didn't see the response to another similar thread.I figured this out. When you create the static text object at design time, make sure that it has a word with a different colour or font or something. That will ensure that its value property contains an exData object with contentType="tex...

  • I'm worried. Is this approach described in any official Adobe documentation? PDF and XDP are open specs, right? Where is all this specified? With which versions of Reader/Acrobat does this work? Can we rely on this approach working in future versions? The main source of my concern is this. The abilit...

  • I can get a 45 degree field if rendering as a print form, but it doesn't work for an interactive form. I'm doing this by editing the XML source directly. Maybe it can be done throught the GUI in the latest version of Designer, which I don't have. Add the attribute rotate="45" to the field tag.Jared ...

  • I don't believe there's such a thing. Some alternatives:- You could use checkboxes instead. - You could have a list box in a repeating subform so that the user can effectively "clone" the list box for each selection- You could use a list box with buttons and scripting to create something similar to ...

  • Hi Catherine,When you save your PDF from Designer, be sure to save as a Dynamic PDF rather than a Static PDF. My guess is that's the problem.Hope this helps.Jared LangdonJ. Langdon Consulting, Inc.
