Re: Event based Data Elements - Dynamic Tag Management 22-12-2015
Hi Trench,When defining the criteria for an event based rule, within the custom code block we can dynamically capture the value of the event, and you can set it within that code block using: Var str= $(this).attr("class");// This line will fetch the class of the link clicked i.e. ga gainfo-[category]-[action]-[label]-[value] Var res=str.split("-"); // This line will split the string into an array on the basis of "-" Hence we will have an array of length 5 and res[1] =[category] , res[2]=[action]...

Re: 2 Images requests - Dynamic Tag Management 21-12-2015
Hi Ankit,Are you still facing the issue i.e. Two image requests are being fired ?. if yes , Can you please take a look at below mentioned points.1.Please check to make sure you are not firing the additional s.t() call separately from the Page code.2. No need to insert s.t() call in page load rule. The Tag loader code snippets (Header and Footer codes) takes care of that.2. There is a known way in Adobe Analytics (SiteCatalyst) which let's you abort the image requests. You can try abort flag. Ex:...

Re: DTM GA events for second tracker object - Dynamic Tag Management 21-12-2015
Hi Trench,Thanks for reaching out to Adobe Activation-Dynamic Tag Management Forum. We offer sincere apology for the delay in response. For the scenario discussed above, It would be required to set the Event tracking for Google Analytics in "Javascript/ Thirdparty Tags" such that the event rules to send to siteTracker instead of the default tracker. Please use the below code to achieve the same.ga('siteTracker.send', 'event', 'link', 'click', 'http://example.com', { nonInteraction: true});// Send...

Re: Page load tracking firing on any link click - Dynamic Tag Management 20-12-2015
Cleve Young wrote... The second server call you show looks to be a Download link, indicating Analytics thinks you are downloading a certain type of file. If this is the case, try going into the Analytics Tool>Link Tracking section and either un-checking "Track download links", or if you do have download links you want tracked then find which file extension is triggering the call and remove it from the list. Hi Parminder, As mentioned by Cleve, the second server call looks to be a download link. ...

Re: Parse URL Parameters - Dynamic Tag Management 17-12-2015
Hi Ali,As per the above Scenario , It will be required to use some ready made Javascript string functions . Assuming that the URL parameter vanity_url, will always have a special character "-" before the value that needs to be captured in a prop variable , we can use the below piece of code: Var vanity_ur= s.utility.getQueryParam('vanity_url');Var index= vanity_ur.lastIndexOf("-"),Var length=vanity_ur.length;Var val= vanity_ur.substring(index, length);s.prop8=val;Please let us know if you have a...

Re: document.write - Dynamic Tag Management 09-12-2015
Hi Neha,DTM supports document.write(). The only thing which needs to be kept in mind is to change the syntax of tag within the document.write function. The reason why the above piece of your code is not working is that when we are embedding javascript in an HTML page the HTML parser when finds your first script tag will immediately try to find the closing tag. Since your closing script tag is in your document.write you'll find yourself in a pickle.Hence the piece of code should be modified as :<script>var value = somevaluegenerated;document.write('<script src="xyz.js?para1=one&para2=' + value + '"><\/script>');// This line is modifiedWe have also tested a piece of test code on our end and the code is perfectly working. Thanks & RegardsParit Mittal
