For serialized events only the event value is ignored. Other attributes in the hit are counted. This is not clearly documented, however, this is how I have seen the hits with duplicate events are processed.

Page Name is stripped off from hits with custom links. Since you are adding a Page Name, you are actually asking the servers to add a Page View. This is indeed not documented. I stumbled upon this behavior while troubleshooting a similar issue.

Video Name is a classification report. The values in the report are populated from a.media.friendlyName. You can verify this by exporting classification data from SAINT import tool.

Check if a processing rule is setting Page Names. If Page Name is set in processing rules, custom link increment page views.
