Yes, I can't believe that this is not a feature. There are some cases where we need the account director to review the document first and then to review the document again at the end of the route.

The way that we've been handling it is to have the designer/copywriter (whoever is creating the proof) email the proof to the person who is responsible for tracking/managing the proof (most often this is me).
