  • While "Total Hours" isnt available as a filter, "Actual Hours" is. I think that'll get you what you want. These 2 fields frequently confuse me. If i recall, one has the word "Hours" tacked onto it and the other doesnt.

  • I've also had a lot of requests for such a feature in the UPDATES area so that people could quickly scan for highlighted items.

  • Melissa - I dont think there is an easy answer to this. It would be nice for WF to provide a flag for a constraint violation, in this case where your must start on is BEFORE the planned completion of the predecessor. However, there is one thing you may want to look at. That is the Task Progress St...

  • Nice post, as always, Doug. At first I was stumped as to WHY a custom data element needed to be re-created for each form it was on. You and Skye explained it well. With the advent of multiple custom forms being allowed on an object, we've been using some standard forms for the things that ALL work m...

  • There really isnt a way that i've found to set up automatic approval reminders, as you can for overdue tasks, timesheets, or issues. However you can manually send a reminder by going into the document, click a person with a PENDING approval and select "REMIND" from the dropdown that shows up. You ...

  • For the first, you may want to implement a reminder (setup->Email Notifications->Reminders) for late tasks. This way people will get a notification x days after the task was due. That said, this is a change management problem. Sounds like your group needs to better understand WHY the tasks need to...

  • Hmmmm.... not sure that there's a native way to do this. However, you can attach an approval route to the milestone task. Since the Project Owner's Manager isnt one of the approver options, you could assign the milestone task to the Project Owner and then set the approval route to the task owner's...

  • I would agree with everything already posted, and add that the group structure is important to nail down as well. Project templates (as well as lots of other objects) can be group specific and therefore aid in limited what one group sees when they create new projects. Another thing that we've done i...

  • We keep a lot of things as requests to reduce the overhead. In some cases, we're even experimenting with things that take a little longer and involve more than one group. Rather than converting to a project, the request is routed to the first team assignment. Someone there grabs it, does their part,...

  • Another thing to check is the user access on the project and the tasks. Do the users in question have manage access to the tasks? Does their access level allow EDIT on tasks?
