Hi @ddivney, we are planning to provide the capability to select custom thumbnail in AEM Assets Cloud Service (CS) where users don't need Dynamic Media add-on to select custom thumbnails in future. This is planned for AEM Assets CS. This is not on the immediate roadmap of 2023, we might pick this up...
