We have template update meetings where we invite a group to review the template and agree on changes.

I agree that there is a lot of dead space on the screen now. My users frequently complain about how much space is wasted with NWE vs classic, and this is another example of that.

I also started receiving Daily Digest emails out of the blue recently. It's only a couple a day, so I'm not too annoyed, but it isn't just you.

If you go to the Approvals section on the left side bar for the task/project that's been approved, it'll show a green check mark next to the name of the user who approved it. I agree that it would be very nice to have the approval automatically trigger a status change.
