I don't see a problem in the dialog. I would assume you have a proxy component with sling:resourceSupertype pointing to core/wcm/components/text/v2/text then this should ideally work unless there are some other errors observed on console or in your error logs. It could simply be a browser cache issu...

How does your generated HTML look like then in the browser? Can you inspect and share that screenshot ?

I think you can create some service and target it to run just on your publish instance based on run mode. But I would be more interested in what are the differences observed in the url map ?  I would think there might be some differences due to externalizing the links which would be due to Day CQ Li...
