Change the display format to show all numbers ('9,999,999.99')and not to supress the leading zero (z,zzz,zzz,zz9.99').More information about the display format is contained in the 'Scripting Reference' under LiveCycle Designer's 'Help' menu option.

:"The only dumb question, is the question not asked!"Well, if one has a time sheet into which a person enters start and stop times the time worked for a single day can be computed and then if one has the daily data for the pay period, one could also sum the time worked for each day and have the total time worked during the pay period and with some additional work could determine the amount and type of U.S. overtime. And this is one example of computing time intervals and totaling time values.You...

You will have to use the "AT()" function to locate the ":" and split the string into the hours component and then the minutes component. You can then compute the string into minutes. With each string converted to minutes, you can add the minutes getting the total minutes. Now you can easily do the math to get the hours and minutes from the total minutes.

You have to be careful when saving with a full version of Acrobat, as it will remove the Extended Rights. You should be copying the file through the OS and not by using Acrobat.

Yes, you can not import a PDF form into LiveCycle Designer and not have the Acrobat JavaScripts not disabled. There are a large number of differences between Acrobat Form JavaScirpt and LiveCycle Designer JavaScript. One of the biggest is how to reference the open PDF object. More information is in the "Scripting Reference" under LiveCycle Designer's menu "Help" option.

You have create a custom 'Submit' button and specify optional information, parameters. See 'To insert a button and select the "Control Type" "Submit" and then complete the "Submit" tab that becomes visible on the 'Object' tab. More information is in the 'Scripting Reference' in LiveCycle Designer's help under 'Button properties in the Submit tab'.

You have to apply the "Extended Reader Rights". For a distribution of less than 500 you can use Acrobat 8 Professional or Acrobat 9 Professional. All others will need the LiveCycle Server.

You have to specify that you are using the "formattedValue" and not the default 'rawValue'. The date string being processed has to comply with the format string for the conversion.

For dates within the same month, one could extract the date with some string manipulation, but if the months are different this would make the code more complex then learning to to use the Date2Num() funcition. This is not that hard.1. Make sure you have the 2 dates2. Know the format of the date fields3. Use the Date2Num() function with the formatted values and format to get the number of days from the base Epoch date4. Do the subtraction

It sounds like the person creating the form did not test their final form. What application was used to create this PDF form?If it was Acrobat, the fields can not have the same name.It it was LiveCycle Designer, do the fields have a binding of "Global" and the same field name?I would notify the HR department of the company and ask them to have the form fixed.

In Acrobat with an Acrobat created form, not LiveCycle Designer, you select on the menu bar "Document" and then "Replace Pages...". You will be prompted for the PDF to use for the replacement pages, and then what pages to replace in the original PDF and what pages to use from the new PDF.

I expect this will be a continuing issue. Since you used LiveCycle Designer, you can not just replace the background PDF as can be done with Acrobat Form Tool forms. So unless you are doing something that requires LiveCycle Designer's form features, I would use Acrobat for the forms. Now if they can provide a Word doc or you can create a Word doc of the form and you have version 8 Professional or better, you could use the Run automatic form-field recognition.

For the code that reads:Surname = Concat(upper(Left(Surname,1)),lower(Right(Surname,Len(Surname)-1))) The correct case for the function name needs to used:Surname = Concat(Upper(Left(Surname,1)), Lower(Right(Surname,Len(Surname)-1)))One could use the "At()" function to find word boundaries in the string then process each word.Or use JavaScript to be able to use the ability to split a string into an array and join the array elements into a string.

Yes, you need to create the form with Acrobat using Acrobat's Form Tool. Look under the menu option "Tools =>Forms" and select "Show Forms Toolbar" or the form field type you want to create. Acrobat is not really designed for creating forms but adding form fields and form interactivity, but you might not be able to use this feature with the PDF/A-1b standard. You should create the base form in another application that is designed for authoring documents and then add the form fields. You will nee...

You will need to create a special trusted function using Acrobat JavaScript and place the code in one of Acrobat's application level JavaScript folders to perform the "saveAs" method. You will then be able to call the trusted function from LiveCycle Designer. Depending upon how you write your specific function you could pass the file name or have the function query for the name. See, http://www.acrobatusers.com/forums/aucbb/viewtopic.php?id=16903 , "How to "SaveAs" with filename generated from f...
