Did you try testing the match in the classification rule builder test window? Does it still match there?

You cannon pass adobe analytics segments in real time at all this takes 24-48 hours. Are you using real time audiences based on raw analytics data? Even if you do your audiences will only be available on next page not on the same page.

I think Ideally you want the option when the segment is included t choose if it should be a reference or a copy. Mainly I can see situations when you have complex segment you might want to include the structure and than modify it to a new segment
