Hey Aspirants!
Super excited to be learning with you all. My name is Jake, I am currently working as an Adobe Intern with the TAM department (Technical Account Management). I am based out of San Jose, CA.
I'm working closely with AEP products and currently working on a project related to AEP Migration. Earlier this year I completed my CJA certification and looking forward to advancing my knowledge even further with RTCDP. I am definitely no expert, but if you have any questions about the test format itself, feel free to reach out as I recently did the CJA.
Welcome Jake!
Glad to hear that you already faced a certification exam, even better being CJA as it shares some concepts with AEP already.
You'll see that your experience facing other exams is super valuable!

Hey cohort,
Just wanted to share this quick Loom video. Accessing the practice exams was not super straightforward when I was studying for CJA. So I thought this might help!
Access RTCDP Practice Exam
Superb contribution Jake!
To all: Please take a moment to review the video as the practice exam is one of the best tools when facing the certification exam.

Section 4: Schemas and profiles (18%) - Week Starting: August 12th
Also, bear in mind the prerequisites that you should already bring with you (or if that's not the case, quickly ramp up on them!) which are the basic tasks that the exam is going to take for granted:

1.
B, C
The data behavior of a schema is defined by the schema’s class, which is assigned to a schema when it is first created.
Record Data - Information about the attributes of a subject such as a person or organization
Time series - Provides a snapshot of the system at the time that an action was taken either directly or indirectly
XDM Individual Profile is a standard XDM class which forms a singular representation (profile) of an individual person.
XDM Experience Event is a standard XDM class used to create a timestamped snapshot of the system when a specific event occurs, or a certain set of conditions have been reached.
2.
A, B, D
Edge Segmentation is the ability to evaluate segments in Platform instantaneously on the Edge Network. Enables same-page and next page personalization use cases
Batch Segmentation - moves all profile data at once through segment definitions. Batch Audiences are evaluated every 24 hours. Option to evaluate batch on demand using segment job.
Streaming Segmentation - Ongoing data selection process. Once audience has been built and saved, the segment is applied against incoming data
3.
All of the Above
In Experience Platform, identities are used to identify a subject (typically an individual person) regardless of the sources of data being interpreted. They are defined in schemas by marking key fields as “Identity”. Commonly used fields include email address, phone number, ECID, CRIM ID and other unique ID fields such as Loyalty ID
Hey Iker, I was wondering if you had some advice for navigating the documentation. I'm often finding myself falling into a bit of a rabbit hole of hyperlinks when studying. For example, I'll start on a page about segmentation, then encounter a concept that seems important, click on the link then be met with a whole new page of important concepts to take notes on and more hyperlinks sending me elsewhere. It can be a bit difficult to know where to stop.

Hi Jake,
Welcome to Experience League Documentation haha! I completely understand what you mean.
My recommendation is that whenever you land on any article you take a close look at the right side for the content in the article, and pay attention to the left side where you will find the whole hierarchy tree that will help you understand where you are currently located at.
E.g. if you land on any specific article related to segmentation, I would go afterwards to the segmentation service overview and from there start reading in order, maybe skipping some sections from the menu.
Last but not least, new tab is your friend, use it!

Great tips thank you!
Had another quick question. I'm looking at the left rail and following one of the videos in the Exam prep guide - and don't see Segments I only see Audiences.
This screenshot is in my sandbox
These two screenshots are what the video tutorial show.
Are audience builder and segment builder different?

Hey Jake!
Sorry for the late answer, I was on PTO for a couple of days!
Yes, they changed the term "Segments" for "Audiences" in pretty much all of AEP's UI, but it's the same thing, so you are good with it.
Hey Iker,
I came across this- "Datasets: When a dataset is enabled for ingestion into Real-Time Customer Profile, identity graphs are generated from the dataset, given that the dataset as at least two fields marked as identity."
Why does each individual dataset need to have two fields marked as identity? Is this a theoretical requirement for Identity stitching, or a requirement implemented for best results?

Hi Jake,
It is not that the dataset needs to have at least two fields marked as identity, but the Identity Graph!
Think about it, to build an identity graph, you need at least 2 identities, coming from the same or different datasets, but with only 1 field marked as identity, the identity graph cannot be built.
You can easily check this out when opening your RTCP with just an ECID as an identity for example. You will not be able to click on the "View Identity Graph" link as usual.
Hope this helps,
Cheers
