Audience Impact from Dataset Removal

Avatar

Level 3

Hello Community,

My team is about to remove a dataset from our system and I am trying to understand the impact. If we have deactivated audiences in our system with attributes from the dataset that we are removing, will those audiences remain in our system or will they be removed as well?

The dataset delete will impact the profiles stored in Adobe RTCDP platform and how many profiles are within an audience.  The audiences will remain in the Adobe RTCDP platform, but if the audience was created using data from the dataset to be deleted, you should expect the number of qualified profiles in the audience to be reduced.

Have you performed this test in a non-PROD environment before performing this change in PROD?

Hi brekut,

Thank you for the quick response. So would the audience logic for these audiences still be available then? Even if we submit a request to adobe to remove the associated schema for this dataset.

The removal of the dataset would remove the profiles from audience qualification portion of the Adobe RTCDP platform.

Why are you also looking to remove the schema as well?  Is this to hide the logic from the segmentation tool?

Yes, we want to remove the logic from the segmentation tool so that our users don't accidentally use that logic. Additionally, we just want the schemas removed to keep our system clean and not confuse anyone looking through our schemas.

When a schema is marked for profile it cannot be un-marked for profile as this is considered a breaking change.

You can hide the schema by marking the fields as deprecated.  This will suppress the fields being made available the segmentation viewer.
