Implementing Dynamic Media using Document-Based Authoring with Edge Delivery Service (EDS)

Avatar

Level 2

I am exploring the implementation of Dynamic Media using the document-based approach with Edge Delivery Service (EDS). I would like to understand how Dynamic Media assets can be integrated and delivered efficiently in this setup. Specifically, I am looking for:

  1. Steps to configure and reference Dynamic Media assets in a document-based authoring workflow.

  2. Any limitations or best practices when using Dynamic Media with EDS.

  3. Examples or documentation that explain how EDS supports Dynamic Media in a document-driven approach.

@arunpatidar @AshwiniSathe1 @Shashi_Mulugu @Prince_Shivhare Can you take a quick look at this question? Any guidance you can provide would be much appreciated!

@SurabhiAc3 here is the link on how to use dynamic media assets on EDS document based authoring scenarios

But however it's recommended to use EDS image optimization features which already optimize image based on browser type, resolution until unless you want to use specific smartcrop from existing DM asset.

If you decided to use DM asset, Also please make sure to use same CDN domain for DM assets as of page CDN to reduce latency around SSL calls as EDS is designed to be page performance specific, it may slowdown image loads a bit.
