DTM: Moving from GTM to DTM

Avatar

Former Community Member

Hi,

At my client, we are looking at implementing DTM as a replacement for GTM (Google Tag Manager) and a lot of hardcoded tags. As you can imagine, we won't be able to migrate all these hardcoded tags and tags managed by GTM overnight.

Is it possible to run both DTM and GTM together on the same page? Won't they conflict if they tag the same DOM elements or events?

As long as you are not trying to deploy the code for DTM via GTM or the other way around, there should not be any problems.  Just like in ghostbusters you don't want to cross the streams.
