Three years later, Eric changed his skills to figure out the dark side of the application and became a developer, starting from zero, but hugely motivated. This experience gave Eric the mandatory background to progress to project leader, then product manager. Eric joined Adobe nine years ago, as product manager and then took the lead of EMEA product management team one year later. Three years ago, a new step in this Journey: Eric is now Director of Engineering for Adobe Campaign. This is a huge challenge, but finding the right balance between professional and personal life was the key! Engage with Eric and you will have a perfect mix of authenticity and clever attitude.

gael mouello.jpegAfter an artistic career as a break dancer, Gaël turned to marketing and communication studies and obtained a Master’s degree. He started his professional career at AXA France as a project manager then at Motivation Factory, a software editor, where he learned to be a product manager. Gaël worked in this company for four years before moving to Toronto, Canada for one year to improve his English. Overall, it was a very good, albeit cold, learning experience. He then moved back to France and joined Adobe in 2016 as a Senior Product Manager. He was in charge Adobe Campaign core capabilities (segmentation, orchestration, reporting…) for 2 years then join the Adobe Journey Optimizer team to build the first version of our new Realtime Customer Journey application. Gael is now back to Adobe Campaign to reimagine and build the new web-based user experience. Gaël still practices breakdancing, but just for fun. Maybe one day, he will show us what he can do on the floor. He really likes playing football as well and actually has a football team.

You might have questions about how the web interface is different from client console. Well, here is a link that can help you get some insights.

https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/campaign-web/v8/start/capability-matrix.html

Hi, thanks for sharing the document on this. Is there a timeline/scope to have transactional messaging via message center as part of the web ui at all please?

Transactional messaging including, event defintion, message authoring/ execution and reporting are in the H2 2024 roadmap.

Some Terminology updates with web UI.
As an existing Campaign user, note that some concepts have been renamed to align with the latest terminology standards. These changes only apply to Campaign Web user interface and are not reflected in the client console.

1. Recipients are now Profiles.
2. Seed addresses are now Test profiles.
3. Delivery analysis is now the delivery preparation.
4. Email Preview is now available through the Simulate content
5. Lists are now Audiences.

Here are some questions we had during the Experience League Live session:
Do we have the JavaScript activity available in the new UI?

Hello,

You can display Javascript activities build in the console and execute them for now. Have capability to create and update such activity in the Web Ui will be available for end of Q2 2024.

Another question we had last week was: Can we FDA to other cloud or on-prem databases?

Yes we can, the reference of FDA databases compatible with Adobe Campaign v8 are available here: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/campaign/campaign-v8/releases/compatibility-matrix.html?lang...

Please note setting of an FDA is not available in Web Ui, but schemas and data are visible in the Web Ui when the setting is done.

Can we migrate our old campaigns from older version to the new one in package format?

We don't need to migrate old campaigns. Web Ui is Campaign v8, and display what we have in the console. The question is more how access to V8.

For the upgrade from V7 to V8 there is automation that has been built out to help do this upgrade with the managed cloud services team.

And another question we had from one of the attendees: Is it possible to create custom target mappings, input forms or other technical workflows in the web UI? Are the same set of functions still supported in the query editor?

As it is Campaign v8, everything is supported by default in term of execution. The only question is what is available now vs what will be available in the next monthly iteration.

For what is available today, please refer to https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/campaign/campaign-v8/new/campaign-ui.html

Custom target mappings: Yes it is available. Creation of a new target mapping remains an admin task, still only in the console for now.

Input forms: custom fields are available. Full custom forms are not for now.

Technical workflows: all workflow are visible and can be executed. Just available activities can be created / updated.

All Administrator/ technical tasks should be managed from the client console such as Target mapping defintion, input forms, schemas authoring. However, as you as it is defined, the business can use it. e.g The marketer can select any target mapping when creating workflows, they edit custom field when creating a delivery or a profile.

Regarding the query editor, the same set of functions are supported.

Is there a set time required between the migration of V7 to V8, and then V8 to web UI please?

When v8.6 is provisioned, web Ui is available by default.

Migration from v7 to v8 depends of the complexity of your use-cases. This can be addressed by Consulting or by a partner.
