Target Testing Capabilities

Avatar

Level 1

Background:   We will be launching new product pages on a website.

There are 34 products that populate in a single template.

We wish to do some A/B testing in Target.  An example of one test would be comparing an in-page navigation bar in two different positions on the page.

In addition to testing the US pages, we wish to run the test in 4 other regions.  The total number of available products varies in each region.

The Issue:   Our tech team here is saying that we can only test individual products because we have to set up the test on a product by product basis, not across the template that applies to all products.    This doesn’t make sense to me – since the page template is the same, it seems like we should be able to set up the test within the template and modify at that level rather than having to set up 34 separate pages in the US, plus the other region pages (146 product pages in total, but on the same template).

Can anyone comment on whether it's possible to test at the template level with all products?   Help!
