In Target Classic, the tool-tip under 'Visitors' says "If a conversion is achieved, a user is eligible to become a visitor to the same campaign again".
Does this mean that once a unique visitor achieves a conversion, they will be re-counted as a new unique 'Visitor' to the experience while the experience is running?
This leads to other questions:
Which conversion will re-count them back as a new visitor?
Does the user become eligible only to the same campaign they originally experienced, or will they be distributed randomly according to the traffic allocation?
Is this same method also apply to Target Standard?
Lastly, WHY is it being counted like this? Other testing tools do not calculate unique visitors like this. Can this function be changed?
Thanks.

Hi Nick ,
We consulted our engineering team on the issue and got to know that actually we have configuration in target to achieve the methodology your earlier mentioned. Please see the following link :
https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/target/target/r_success_metrics.html
There are multiple options available .Use the advanced settings to determine what happens after a user reaches the goal metric. The following table shows the available options.
After a User Encounters This Goal Metric | Options |
---|---|
Increment count and keep the user in the activity | Specify how the count is incremented:
|
Increment count, release user, and allow reentry | Select the experience the visitor sees if they reenter the activity:
|
Increment count, release user, and bar the user from reentry | Determine what the user sees instead of the activity content:
|
Thanks & Regards

Hi Nick,
Usually, counts are determined by cookies and session activity. However, if you reach the final conversion point of a campaign and then re-enter the campaign, you are considered a new visitor and a new visit to the campaign. This is true even if your PCID and sessionID values do not change.
Yes ,the same methodology apllies to Adobe Target standard also.
Thanks & Regards

When a user re-enters a campaign after reaching the final conversion point, will they be randomly re-assigned to the experiences again or will they re-enter through the same experience they originally came in from before they converted?
This methodology is very unconventional, no other major testing tool calculates visitor counts this way which makes analysis difficult to reconcile.
Is there a way to get a raw data export of visitor conversions so that we can do analysis manually and remove multiple conversions from unique users (via IP or session ID)?

Hi, can you please provide detail of what happens when a user re-enters a campaign after reaching the final conversion point? Will they be randomly re-assigned to the experiences again or will they re-enter through the same experience they originally came in from before they converted but counted as a new visitor to that variation?
