I've developed a form using LiveCycle designer. Unfortunately, most people can not read the file from a browser. Using IE 7 and Adobe Reader 5.0, I get the "The file is damaged and could not be repaired." error message.

I've tried to Optimize the document using Adobe Professional, Advanced Menu Item, PDF Optimizer to version down the file. But I get the "This PDF document contains an Adobe XML form. Such files cannot be optimized." message.

When developing forms using LiveCycle, will Adobe Reader 7.0 and above be needed to view the PDF form?

Static forms could be viewed by Reader 6.0.2+. Dynamic forms require Reader 7+.

Since systems are often not patched, you're safest in requiring Reader 7+.

That's is where I ended up after testing the PDF form. Saving document as Static version 7 and upgrading the client machine to Adobe REader version 7.

Thanks for the feedback, it confirms my thought process.
