readOnly property not working in Reader 8.1

Hi,



We have a form where a number of different Text Field objects have their access property set to Read Only at the Form Ready event.



e.g.

xfa.form.OfferItinerary.page1.sHeader.ClientName.access = "readonly";



This was working without any problems in Reader 7.0.9.



When the same form is viewed in Reader 8.1 however, the miltiLine property is enabled for these fields. You cannot type anything into the fields but you can click into the field and hit return to create one or a number of lines on the form which cannot be removed. The form expands to accommodate these additional lines.



Is this a Reader 8.1 bug that anyone is already aware of and does anyone know of a work around for this?

we met the same problem



and we have to use a javascript to move the cursor to some other object when user click on the readonly fields.



that's a pity but we have no other choice.
