MS Word vs Acrobat Forms

We currently have a alot of forms in MS Word format on our intranet where users essentially download, fill them in either online or offline and email/send back to us. All this is working fine.

So I was just wondering if there are any real advantages for converting all our Word documents into Adobe? The only one I can think of is that Adobe is a bit more user friendly vs Word over the web (smaller size , quicker to open up). We dont really need to collate our form data so this negates one main advantage of Adobe.

Any advice why I would want to convert Word forms to Adobe?? Thanks!
