Hi Becky,
This is the way I usually do it:
1. Run the Microsoft Character Map utility. Make sure that you select the same font you use in your form (I use usually Arial as it's virtually available on every PC).
2. Find the special character you are looking for; (c), (R), etc...Click on "Select" and then click on "Copy" button.
3. Go to Adobe LiveCycle design and select the object that have a caption, double click on the caption and past the copied character in the desired location.
4. To position the special character little bit higher than the rest of the text, highlight the character(s) you have just pasted on and then go to the Font tab (if you do not see it, go to Windows tool bar and then select it from there or alternatively click Shift+F4) and select the "Baseline Shift", enter the value of your desirer.
I hope this will help.
PS: I'm using Windows Vista with LC ES Designer 8.1.
BR,
Yasser
