HELP! - Calculated - User can override field

Hello,

I've been trying for the last several hours to have textfield1 be automatically filled in by the value in textfield2, but still allow the user to change what's in textfield1. I arrange for the value in textfield1 to have type "calculated - user can override" and then under calculate with language formcalc and run at client, I type:

$.rawValue = textfield2.formattedValue

Now looking at the preview, after I give textfield2 a value, I see that same value in textfield1. When I try to change textfield1, I can type whatever I want, but then when I click off, it just reverts to its old value. What am I doing wrong?? Instead of show::calculate, I've tried typing the above into initialize and docReady, but to no avail.

Please help, I've been stuck on this problem for several hours.

I also found this:

It's the same problem I have, but I can't see how to modify the solution to work with me.

Thank you in advance,

John

Apparently this is a bug in Acrobat 7.0:

It costs $30 (plus tax and shipping) for Adobe to mail you a version of the software that actually works.
