Bold Will Not Work

I imported an existing PDF document to edit it on designer. All the words in each field became really spaced out when i did this. I was able to correct the spacing, but if i edit anything in the field the bold feature will no longer work. some of the original text was bold, but once you edit, its gone and you cannot get it back. anyone know how to solve this?

When I have this problem I just change the font to something similar and then BANG! I can bold.

I ran into the same problem. I change the font and then change it again back to what I want it to be, and then I can make it bold. I don't understand why this is, probably a bug, but this is the only way I've figured out how to get around it.
