Adding ECID to IdentityMap , required ? Benefits ?

Is there any point to add ECID to IdentityMap ? Are there any benefits? Is it required?

The ECID is present in every Web SDK call anyway, there is no real need to set it.

Hello MIchael, 
If you are using ECID service in the extension. You dont need to specifically create a new data element to capture the ECID. 
It would already be capture under identity MAP field for Web/mobile SDK.
