Hi Folks,
I am seeking guidance on planning our migration to the Adobe WEB SDK.
Currently, we are using the legacy setup, with extensive use of Personalization. After reviewing various Summit videos and Adobe documentation, we are planning to migrate Analytics from at.js to WEB SDK in two phases. For the initial phase, we intend to use the Data Object rather than the XDM Object. This approach is aimed at minimizing the impact on our existing personalization journeys.
Based on Adobe documentation, I understand that we may need to implement processing rules to update eVars and props for custom link tracking. For Target, it appears we can also continue using the Data Object instead of XDM for now. We plan to define data elements with custom code, mapping the data sent to Target using the Target Data Object rather than XDM. By following this approach, we hope to maintain current personalization functionality, assess downstream impacts, and minimize any disruption to our existing setup.
In Phase II, our goal is to fully onboard the XDM Object for both Analytics and Target.
I welcome any feedback on this approach and would greatly appreciate hearing about your experiences, advice, or challenges encountered during similar migration journeys.
Thank you!
