Sending Non-Sensitive Information with MobileCore.collectPii method

I have a question regarding to sending non-sensitive user information with collectPii method. As per Adobe documentation, collectPii method should use for sensitive information to prevent Adobe sharing this info within itself and 3rd Parties. This data is required to send push notification as user identifier. Do we have any other option or collectPii is a way to go? Thanks
