Adobe Launch Mobile Property - Free form data element

Hi All,

 

Just trying to understand how does the "free form" data element works in adobe launch for mobile property.

We are in process of migrating from V4 to Launch and want to use data layer from API so wondering if I can use this data element by providing API path.
