Use 2 different urls for same page template in AEM

Avatar

Level 1

Hi,

We are just starting with AEM and looking for better approach to use 2 different urls for 2 different types of users:

We call it as internal and external user.

www.xyz.com/internal/profile

www.xyz.com/external/profile

Both these urls will land on the same or similar page. Internal user can see additional components on page than external user.

Is it possible to use 2 different urls which will load the same page for internal and external users but components on the page will turn on and off based on the user accessing url.

One thing we are trying to avoid is to add url based condition on a component to turn it on or off.

Please help me to understand better way to solve this problem in AEM.

Hello @amitbongale,

You can add vanity URLs for different URLs on the same page.

And to show different content based on user/audience and you are trying to avoid URL base conditions you can achieve it using Adobe Target.

Using Adobe Target you can target your audience and can show different content for that audience.

Adobe Target is a personalization and optimization tool that works seamlessly with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to help businesses deliver relevant and personalized experiences to their customers. It enables marketers to create and test different variations of web content and experiences, and then target those experiences to specific segments of their audience based on criteria such as behavior, location, or demographics. With Adobe Target, marketers can also measure the effectiveness of their campaigns and make data-driven decisions to continually improve their digital experiences. Overall, Adobe Target is a powerful tool that helps businesses increase engagement, conversions, and customer loyalty by delivering personalized and relevant experiences to their audience.

And you don't have to bother about different URLs.
