Some pages are shown empty in 4503

Hello guys

in 4502 I did:

1) activated user

2) activated its groups

3) activated CUG pages

but in 4503 that page is still empty....

although the menu to this page exists i can enter but nothing is shown

what can be the issue here?

HI

Please go through the steps mentioned below:- 

You need to activate/replicate your /apps/site folder where all of your templates and components are located to push it from your author instance to your publish instance. Activating a page doesn't automatically activate the components and templates it uses.

Go to:

http://localhost:4502/etc/replication/treeactivation.html

• Browse to or type /apps/[your site] in the path field
• Set the check boxes to fit what you want to activate (Unchecking all will make everything under the selected path activate)
• Click 'Dry Run' to see what will get activated without actually activating. (This is more of an informative step to help ensure you don't activate something not intended in a production setting)
• Click 'Activate' to activate.

You can then check your publish instance to see your templates and code are there.

It is easy to miss activating your apps folder as there is no ui like the website admin for pages where you can activate.

Activating a page/folder/asset does not activate sub-pages/folders/assets. This can cause confusion especially when working with folders.

Generally if you need to activate a tree the best way is to use the tree activation utility

yes i activated the apps/project  folder every thing there

I see the pages mostly fine, but there are like 2 -3 pages i see an empty page with side navigation menu to other pages.

so something is missing there

i will check assets...

I checked that those kind of pages that are not shown, have 1 component that has a download button of assets

i removed that component in siteadmin, activated the page, and i can see the content

but as soon i add this component, the page is shown empty.

what can be wrong here?

Whats is the component doing ?? it depends on that..

It may also be css issue and depends on how the button is created.

Also, check the logs if there are any errors while rendering the page.

i opened Adobe CQ log and saw  error tace and i am fixing it

so stupid of me, thinking it was something of Activation, heheheh
