Search Functionality

When searching for keywords, AEM has the ability to peer into Assets and look for those keywords as well.

What is the API or logic I can use to replicate this or maybe extend this feature?

are you referring to the content finder search ?

Yes the content finder, can't seem to find the function that looks into the content of an Asset though.
