Rollout failed: Caused by: javax.jcr.ItemNotFoundException: .... has no child node with name ...

When trying to do a rollout for a part of the content I get a rollout failed message. Looking in the logs I can see an ItemNotFound exception. Why is there a problem if a noude with name X is found in the blueprint, but not in the live copy?
