@chandra_s_gupta the envt setup in on-prem is under the IT control they can make it more secure or make it vulnerable by improper configuration at the proxy or server. Both can be tuned to give good performance. But my choice is Linux.
@chandra_s_gupta The AEM server is Java-based and runs on most operating systems that support that platform (see Technical Requirements). All client interaction with AEM is done through a web browser. Please check the below screenshot for the supported OS.

Thanks @Bhuwan_B for your response. I understand that AEM is supported on different OS platform. Is Linux a preferred option when it comes to Prod in terms of performance & security aspect ?
@chandra_s_gupta It's based on the choice of the business, AEM on-prem supports both windows and Linux. Depending on your infra requirements and the other middleware that are supported in your org you can make a choice with what to go for. The OS. Do keep in mind that the support varies if you are using forms or migrating from older version. Do validate the "Support Level" column.
Thanks for your response @Mayank_Gandhi , So it does not make any difference in terms of Performance or Security aspect ? or Linux is a preferred option when it comes to production.
