I created one sample community site in AEM. I configured mongodb in Tools-> communites-> storage conifuration -> MSRP. I have to setup mongo db for storing UGC alone in AEM community sites.
Is the apache solr really need for MSRP configuration?

Hi,
according to the docs[0],[1] SOLR is prerequisite to using MSRP, no other alternative is available.

Hi,
If you're in learning mode, please see the tutorial on setting up MongoDB and Solr for development or demonstration.
For a production environment, it really is expected that you will have a license for MongoDB and know how to configure and administer both MongoDB and Apache Solr by reading their documentation.
For AEM Communities, customized scripts are provided for Solr, for either standard MLS or advanced MLS, to facilitate searching for user generated content.
I'm moving this question to the AEM Communities topic where it will get better visibility.
Please do not hesitate if you have more questions.
