Latest updated asset is not updating on page with Activate later Page in AEM

Hi All,

Please share your thoughts/suggestions on below query.

We are publishing page ( dummy uploaded image ) from AEM author with activation later , but we are replacing the dummy image with new image with same name before scheduled activation time of that page.

later page got published with scheduled time , but updated asset ( with same name) is not reflecting in Publisher.

Is it required to schedule a Asset also on same time to get reflected in Publisher because we are seeing only page showing while selecting activation later option and not showing any associated assets for that page during activation later option selected.

Cheers

Raju

You can cancel the current Activation by going to Workflow>Instances. Its should look like the image I shared in previous comment.

And then you can Activate the Image alone via "Manage Publication" option.

If its working the way you have described, it seems to be well designed. The users should see what was scheduled for publish.

When we schedule for later, a workflow instance is created. A new version is created and the replication payload is this specific version of an asset (as visible in the screenshot below).

Hi Aanchal-Sikka,

Thanks for the update.

it make sense to have different options to reflect in publisher after replace the image in Author ( Same name).

  • Have a another scheduling for activate page later with future time then existing scheduled page time,
  • schedule a another page activation later ( after replacing the new image) option by cancelling the existing page activation later
  •   activate image alone separately to reflect in Publisher.

Hi @raju-komari
The OOTB Manage publish workflow create a package with the current selected version and publishing using package.

To achieve scheduling & auto publishing with references, you need to build a custom workflow using process steps.
