Index Migration From Windows Server to Linux Server

Avatar

Level 1

Hi,

I have a requirement where we are migrating from Windows server to Linux Server. The repository size is approximately 10TB and it has lot of custom indexes and both windows and Linux servers are on-premises.

Is there any way to move the indexes from windows server to linux server?

Note : In past if took more than 5 days to index the entire repository, so re-indexing in linux server will cause data inconsistencies.

Hi @sharmaashish431, well there are plenty of ways to migrate content, few examples are:

  • Oak-upgrade (Oak-run)
  • AEM Packages
  • VLT RCP

And the best approach to proceed will be using Oak Upgrade (Oak-Run) command considering the size of your repository.
Please have a look at this Jackrabbit migration document: https://jackrabbit.apache.org/oak/docs/migration.html

Hope this helps!
