Hello,
I have a few questions regarding the security features in AEM documentation.
"By right-clicking on the PDF document and selecting Document Properties - Security tab, the security method is set to 'Adobe Experience Manager Document Security,' and the summary of document restrictions indicates that printing is 'Not Allowed.'
1. Question: Can the printing settings be changed to 'Allowed' after a certain period?
2. Question: Does the 'Offline Lease 1 day' setting allow the printing settings to change from 'Not Allowed' to 'Allowed'?
3. In what situations could a PDF file that was not allowed to be printed become printable? (Changes in security settings by an AEM administrator, user error, etc.)"

Hi @성진임19409707 ,
Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Document Security provides robust control over PDF document permissions, including printing. Let's address your questions related to the security features in AEM:
Question: Can the printing settings be changed to 'Allowed' after a certain period?
Answer: Yes, the printing settings can be changed to 'Allowed' after a certain period. This can be achieved through the configuration of document policies within AEM Document Security. Administrators can define policies that apply specific permissions to documents, including time-based changes. For example, an administrator could set a policy where printing is not allowed initially but becomes allowed after a specified period. This requires setting up an appropriate policy within AEM's Rights Management feature.
Question: Does the 'Offline Lease 1 day' setting allow the printing settings to change from 'Not Allowed' to 'Allowed'?
Answer: The 'Offline Lease' setting in AEM Document Security specifies the duration a document can be accessed offline without needing to reconnect to the server for reauthorization. This setting itself does not directly change the printing permissions. However, it can be part of a broader policy where permissions, including printing, might change upon reauthorization. For example, after the offline lease period expires and the document is reauthorized, a new policy could potentially change the printing permission to 'Allowed' if configured by the administrator.
Question: In what situations could a PDF file that was not allowed to be printed become printable? (Changes in security settings by an AEM administrator, user error, etc.)
Answer: Several scenarios could lead to a PDF file that initially had printing disabled becoming printable:
AEM Document Security offers granular control over document permissions, including time-based permission changes and reauthorization mechanisms. While the 'Offline Lease' setting itself does not change printing permissions directly, it plays a role in the broader context of reauthorization and policy enforcement. Changes in security settings by an AEM administrator or specific policy configurations are the primary means by which a document's printing permissions might change.
Hello @성진임19409707 Is this a question regarding AEM Guides ?
"Can the print function of a PDF document sent to a recipient be frequently turned OFF and ON using AEM Document Security features?"
Hi @성진임19409707
It seems the question is related to AEM forms
I will move this thread to AEM form community
