How to ensure image assets on a page re-publish after page has been published using workflow "Publish to Preview"

Hello,

I just recently came across an issue with image assets not displaying on a page that was recently published after it was published using the "Publish to Preview" workflow. I had to navigate to each image asset in the DAM for the images to display and run the "Quick Publish" command. This leads me to ask the questions below.

  • Is there a preferred and optimized way to present new page layouts and updates to approvers?
  • Is there something wrong with our publishing workflow?

The "Publish Page" command in the editor should re-collect the image assets when this command is run.

Thank you in advance!

@Edardna yes in your workflow step you need to write custom code to publish page along with all references

Refer to below community post for reference

Hello @Shashi_Mulugu,

Thank you for this. To clarify the default "Publish Page" command that sits under the "Page Information" menu within the editor (Screen grab attached), you're saying that it would need to be tweaked to collect once again all the references for those assets to be "published" along with the page.

It's still not clear to me what happens to the assets when the page is first published via "Publish to Preview" (Screen grab attached) under the "Start Workflow" dialog and also under the "Page Information" menu within the editor.

If the asset has been published to preview, why isn't it picked up again once you're ready to publish the page?

Thanks!
