DataStore garbage collection in AEM 6.2/6.3

Hi ,

Going through the maintenance activities I found that the current versions perform the DataStore garbage collection automatically during the maintenance window. Does this stand true.

If not , then do we need to manually run the garbage collection through repository configuration in CRX explorer?

While running it manually through CURL command, can we create an alert for success/failure message?

Any answers would be appreciated

If the repository has been configured with an external data store, data store garbage collection will run automatically as part of the Weekly Maintenance Window. The system administrator can also run data store garbage collection manually on as as-needed basis.
