I down loaded cq-quickstart-5.5.0-20120220 it is a zip file. When I unzip it it's a folder. It is not in a jar file format. it's in a folder format. What must I do to get .jar format cq-quickstart-5.5.0-20120220.jar???

Hi Alfredo,

It sounds like what you are saying is that the file got downloaded as cq-quickstart-5.5.0-20120220.zip instead of cq-quickstart-5.5.0-20120220.jar. If so, just rename the file! A jar file is a zip file with some extra metadata, contained in the META-INF folder. The contents you listed above definitely look like what I would expet to be contained in the cq-quickstart-5.5.0-20120220 distribution.

Regards,

Justin

Is there a reason you want to use such an old version ?

Typically you would download software from the Adobe license site using your registered account, is that what you are doing ?

I logged in and went here:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Download
Download Adobe CQ5 from the location below. Save it into a new folder of your choice.Ensure, that a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 6 is available on your computer and the JAVA_HOME environment variable references the JRE home directory. If you are not sure please download and install from Oracle. Particularly out-of-the-box Windows installations do not have Java installed.

     CQ 5.5 - Quickstart JAR (Release Version, Load 25b - Feb 20, 2012)      229543 Kb
     CQ 5.5 - Application Server WAR (Release Version, Load 25b - Feb 20, 2012)      216700 Kb

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I clicked CQ 5.5 - Quickstart JAR (Release Version, Loadb - Feb 20, 2012) 229543 Kb and I downloaded the file but it was a zipped file and it contained the file structure:

\com

\gui

\META-INF

/org

\quickstart

\static

GetProcessID.class

I've attached the zip file that contains the cq5 file I downloaded and opened up. Can you explain to me where I'm going wrong?

as goffinf suggest go with latest one. If you have daycare access aem 5.5 can be downloaded from http://daycare.day.com/home/products/cq_wcm/cq55.html

For aem 6 you shold use lws and it will be jar file only..
