AEM System groups - LICENSE_DEV_ADMIN_GROUP_NAME_SUFFIX

Avatar

Hi there,

In our lower and prod environments we have noticed many groups of format "LICENSE_DEV_ADMIN_GROUP_NAME_SUFFIX".  Not sure from where these groups got synched or created.

We are using AEM as a CS. Any help on this analysis is appreciated.

AEM will sync in all Admins Console user groups AND Admin Console Product profiles the users are a member of into AEM as AEM User Groups. This includes groups are NOT in admin console, but they are carried in because the users might be member of them in someones org.

Not a fan of the clutter too but best is to ignore/filter out

I think this groups are created with Adobe IMS authentication

but better to check with Adobe.

Can you please elaborate your answer. We are also having these groups like

  • AEM Administrators-<SOME_STRING>

    1. What is the purpose of these groups, why are there multiple with different strings of numbers/letters?

    2. Are these groups auto generated by AEM? If so,what is the trigger/ process for auto-generation?

    3. Do we need these groups for AEM to function properly, or are we okay to delete them?
      Thanks in adv.

AEM Administrators-<SOME_STRING> groups are needed. These are product profiles that users are assigned in Admin Console to be able to login to AEM as Cloud as admins.
