AEM 6.5.2 to Mulesoft runtime integration

Hi, I am new to AEM and need suggestions. We have a requirement where i have to post each notifications in the inbox /libs/cq/workflow/content/inbox/list.json to mulesoft runtime via rest api. I thought of below:
  1. Write a custom maven project and deploy on AEM as package
  2. Edit existing workflows to add a new step which will call this class
  3. When called, this will post a rest api request to mulesoft

Is this a right way to do or do you suggest any other better way. Please let me know.

This isn't exactly what you are asking for, but I think this article should point you in the right direction. There is a simple endpoint that will show the inbox of the currently user, but if you use a user from the administrators group, you can see all notifications on the system: http://localhost:4502/bin/workflow/inbox

 

Beyond that, there are APIs outlined in the article below:
